Construction Accountant – Full Charge Bookkeeper

A.R. Pierrepont Co., Inc., a family owned and operated union painting and wallcovering contractor, is seeking a
Construction Accountant/Full Charge Bookkeeper to co-manage the company’s financial data and office functions.

This position will report to the President, Vice President and Treasurer of the company.

Essential Responsibilities:
• Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Job Costing, Payroll, General Ledger and Inventory on an
integrated accounting system and Project Administration
• Experience with Foundation for Construction accounting software (SQL based) is helpful along with
Microsoft 10 and Office 365 (Excel, Word, Exchange)
• Receive and verify AP invoices, post and process
• Weekly payable analysis and cash management
• Bank account reconciliation
• AIA Billing, understanding of retainage percentage and lien waivers
• Weekly and monthly analysis of AR and follow up
• Reconcile Job Cost income and costs. Percentage of Completion accounting
• Certified Payroll and Union reports including knowledge of Prevailing Wage Schedules and rules
• MCIDC reporting
• Monthly EEOC Utilization reporting
• Garnishments
• Assist with Human Resources
• Plan, organize and process year end W-2’s. Complete quarterly 941, NYS-45 and 940 reports and
• Weekly and monthly Workers Compensation calculations and reconciliations
• OSHA reporting
• Reconcile General Ledger accounts and variance reports
• Assist with monthly financial statements and managing revenue recognition schedules, policies and
• Sales and Use tax reporting with detailed tracking. COMIDA tax savings
• Project contract processing and insurance certificates
• Responsible for providing internal and external auditors with information requested
• Assist with project bidding procedure
• File retention process
• Many more office functions and ad hoc scenarios exist

Job Requirements:
• Must possess strong problem solving, analytical, communication, organizational, technology and leadership
• Must be very detail oriented with strong oral and written communication skills
• Must have the ability to work independently and effectively with senior members
• Ideal candidate will have minimum 5 -10 years of accounting and administration in the construction
industry. Notary Public is a must.
