The Club:

Oak Hill Country Club has a rich and storied history in golf. Founded in 1901 by twenty-five of the leading business and professional leaders in Rochester, it was originally a 9-hole layout on 85 acres along the banks of the Genesee River. The Clubhouse was a little more than a converted farmhouse with kerosene lamps and no running water. However, the popularity of golf in America was growing quickly and with it so did Oak Hill. By 1921, Oak Hill had doubled in size and had added a new Clubhouse, so when the University of Rochester proposed a land swap in 1921 it was a tough decision for members. However, the membership decided to accept the offer and moved to a 355-acre plot in nearby Pittsford that included two Donald Ross designed courses and a beautiful Tudor-style Clubhouse. With the 2008 PGA Championship Oak Hill became the first Club in the United States to host the six men’s major events – the U.S. Open, U.S. Amateur, U.S. Senior Open, the PGA and Senior PGA Championships and the Ryder Cup. Oak Hill will also be the future site of the 2023 PGA Championship and the 2027 United States Amateur. Oak Hill is recognized as a top 35 Platinum Club of America and is on the distinguished list of Platinum Clubs of the World. The two cherished golf courses offer an experience like no other. Golf Digest ranked the West Course #27 in New York State, and the famed East Course is ranked # 20 in America.


The Club enjoys a full membership of more than 975 members with a full waitlist. The Tudor style clubhouse is 72,000 sq. ft. and includes a golf shop, full-service locker rooms, bowling center, ballroom, several private event rooms, casual and formal dining rooms, and a fitness center. The Sports Complex includes an Olympic size pool with casual dining, paddle courts and Har-Tru tennis courts and two state of the art golf simulators.


In 2021 the Club began construction on two 4 bedroom and 4.5-bathroom Tutor Style Cottages that opened July 2022 for overnight occupancy.


In November of 2021 the Club membership approved a $44 million Master Plan concept that includes a complete restoration of the historic clubhouse, New Grand Ballroom, 3 redesigned restaurants, a Golf Performance Center that includes 6,500 square feet Fitness Center, a new Golf Shop and winter learning and playing facility. The Aquatic and Racquet Complex will be completely renovated and enhanced with new amenities.

The Director of Finance Position:

The Director of Facilities at Oak Hill Country Club will work as an integral member of the Leadership Team reporting to the GM/ Chief Operation Officer. The DOF will have clear ownership of the day-to-day facility maintenance operations of the Club while working closely with our dynamic Executive Team on the achievement and execution of the Club’s strategic and capital plans while embracing our mission, vision, and core values known as the “Acorns of Excellence”. The DOF will provide facility leadership (excluding the golf course), in accordance with sound engineering practices, leading the goals of the Club’s maintenance program objectives.


In addition to leading all facility functions of the Club, the DOF will work with the GM/Chief Operating Officer and lead the preparation and completion of all special projects. He/She will prepare quarterly/annual facilities reports for the GM/COO and Board. In addition, the DOF will evaluate operating results in terms of costs, budgets, policies of operation, trends, compliance and safety/security. The DOF will lead a team of four in the Maintenance Department that handles all service calls, facility repairs, alters and installs work according to developed or pre-set guidelines; troubleshoots malfunctions, and works with required vendors and service technicians.

The Ideal Candidate:

The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 10 years of professional experience in Engineering, Maintenance or related filed.  The experience must be in a similar size business with a minimum half of those years serving in the department head capacity. He/She will have logical professional career progression with increased level of responsibility and relative employment stability. Although not critical a candidate with hospitality or commercial real estate experience would be preferred. The next DOF of Oak Hill Country will be a dynamic leader with exceptional communication skills both written and verbally, with the appropriate personal presence and desire to interact effectively before diverse groups of professionals. The successful Director of Facilities will be knowledgeable, energetic, forward thinking, and creative individual with high ethical standards and an appropriate professional image. Candidates with experience coordinating and overseeing engineering aspects of major improvement projects, especially as it pertains to construction and renovation projects including working from design development to execution of plan to budgeted expectation.

Bachelor’s degree in related field preferred with continuing education in mechanical engineering, architectural engineering, HVAC, or plumbing.
