Builders Exchange of Rochester Partners with Flower City Habitat for Humanity to Build a Home for a Local Family in Need
The Builders Exchange of Rochester has partnered with Flower City Habitat for Humanity for a unique opportunity to build a house in the Rochester community for a local family in need.
In 2008, the Junior Builders Exchange and the Builders Exchange partnered with Flower City Habitat for Humanity to build a home for a local family. With access to numerous resources, they were able to provide the labor and material to build 140 Orange Street. In less than a year, together, JBX and BX were able to turn over the keys to a first-time homeowner.
Now – 13 years later, JBX and BX are taking on the challenge once again. After year of uncertainty, JBX and BX are gathering the community to provide the “American Dream” to another deserving homeowner.
The total cost of construction for the Habitat home is roughly $130,000 and the tentative start date is September 1, 2021. The house is being built at 226 Saxton Street, Rochester, NY 14611. This is a 1,720 square foot house with 5 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, 2 stories of living space, a full basement, storage shed, refrigerator and range.
With the support of JBX and BX’s membership, along with skilled workers and materials to construct the home, there is no doubt that the community will be impacted for the better.
